Building Credible Online Presence
- National Park Service campground pages, KOA, Hipcamp, and OTA aggregators with vastly larger authority footprints.
- Fifty-one keywords were tracked at the start, and the great majority sat outside the top 100 or deep in the second half of it.
- ROILift partnered with Skagit River RV & Camping on a small-site strategy that put quality of answer ahead of quantity of pages.
If the site could not compete on domain authority, it would compete on page-level specificity: amenity detail so precise that Google's AI Overview would quote it back to the searcher directly.
Objective
- Build organic visibility despite low domain authority against national platforms and government sites.
- Rank for amenity-specific queries (fire ring, pull-through, pet-friendly, laundry, WiFi).
- Earn AI search visibility in a category held by government and aggregator sites.
- Establish an AI assistant referral channel as a new measurable acquisition source.
Our Approach
- Amenity-level page content with specific hookup types, site features, and pet policy details.
- Inventory page architecture optimised for RV site and camping option discovery.
- WiFi, laundry, fire ring, pull-through, and pet-policy content matching amenity search intent with AI Overview optimisation.
- Small-site strategy: 11 pages doing the work of 100 through precision, not volume.

Final Outcome
of the Journey
This wasn't about outspending the National Park Service or KOA.
It was about proving that domain authority is not the only route to visibility when the page answers the exact question asked. Skagit River RV & Camping has 11 pages and a domain authority of 10, and it is now outranking and out-citing national platforms on amenity-level searches. Google’s AI Overview quotes the site’s own amenity details back to the searcher: full hookups, 30-amp pull-through sites, free wireless internet, showers, laundry, fire rings, pet policy. That level of specificity on the page is what makes it quotable.
Users up 90.6 percent, a new AI assistant channel is live, and the site is listed first in AI answers ahead of government campgrounds that have decades of authority behind them.
